Thank you for taking the time to visit my shop and check out my designs. If we haven't met, there's no better time than now. My name is Janelle Morrissey and I am the owner of Soul Seedster. I was born and raised in Seattle, WA. Outside of my full-time job, I have been making and selling jewelry for over 10 years.
My inspiration comes friends, family, and my Native American heritage. Growing up, my beloved Grandma Honey always kept me highly engaged in Tlingit culture. As a result, I was naturally drawn to the beautiful hand-woven seed bead earrings worn and gifted within my family. In my eyes, seed bead earrings signify a statement of beauty, individuality and love.
Bead weaving is a self-taught skill I acquired through much trial and error. Beading requires planning and patience, but it truly gives me an immense sense of satisfaction. Although I am a boy mom who also works full time, my jewelry making is something I enjoy doing and I work on it daily. Crafting and jewelry making is a natural part of my everyday life. It also makes me feel good knowing my handmade designs can put a smile on someone’s face by making something that is unique to their style and personality.
Furthermore, bead weaving has opened my eyes to the endless possibilities within jewelry design. Creativity is limitless and over the years I have expanded into creating unique mixed metals, gemstone, wire wrap, and polymer clay designs.
